I started working with Sharone when I was seeing numbers on the scale that I had only ever seen when I was 40 weeks pregnant. That also coincided with 2020, so my depression and anxiety were sky high. I felt horribly about myself, and the amount of weight I needed to lose was overwhelming and making other parts of my life difficult. I was so ashamed of my weight gain that I went out of my way to avoid being in photos and I now realize that what I really did was sacrifice documenting a year of memories with my kids. I had tried other diet plans in the past (WeightWatchers, Noom, intermittent fasting, heavily restrictive eating), and would lose weight but gain it (and then some) back. I knew those weren’t going to work and that I needed more support and accountability. This is the first time I’ve had so much success with my weight loss, and I wouldn’t call it a diet. We slowly made manageable changes to my diet that have enabled me to acknowledge my wants and feelings without neglecting my needs and goals. Since working with Sharone, I’m back at a weight that I haven’t been at in years, feel healthier and more energetic than I have since my 20s, and recognize myself again. I’m eating more food and have learned to balance fun foods with nutritious food so I can enjoy life while still reaching my goals. My relationship with food has changed, and I have the tools to navigate tricky food situations and set myself up for success. I don’t have “the perfect body,” but I have a body that I’m confident and comfortable in, that takes me on adventures with my kids and carries me through long runs.
